MORE HYDE PARK STUFF

Posted on 05:45 by Unknown
Here are some pictures of things that were not on the official Hyde Park tour.  These are just things that Mom saw while she was walking from one tour house to another.  And since they are fairly interesting, I decided to put them in my blog.

First of all, here's a photo that shows what you can do with all those old bowling balls you have sitting around your house.  And if you have bowling balls in lots of different colors, that's even better.

Then guess what!  Here's a gargoyle, right on the roof of somebody's porch.  Well, except it's not actually a gargoyle, it's a grotesque.

These are some prickly pear cacti that are growing beside the steps.  They have fruits on them, which means that they bloomed in the spring and were probably very pretty.  That little round green thing on the step is a walnut.

In Hyde Park, even the fire hydrants wear smiles on their faces!

And finally, here is an example of a house that was not on the tour because it needs some fixing up.  Well, at the very least, it needs new paint.

But what's really strange about this house is the way it's built in the front, because it has that weird sort of notch in the porch roof.  And then above that, there is that totally odd extension, like sort of a crawl space above the porch.

I have no idea why anybody would make a house in this way, but they must have had their reasons. Or maybe not.
